JOB DESCRIPTION:

**Must have relevant background in CICS Mainframe, COBOL, Configuration, Performance Tuning and Troubleshooting

You will own new feature delivery and production fixes for the cruise‑booking engine hosted on IBM z/OS. Beyond hands‑on coding, you’ll rotate in L3 incident response to restore service quickly.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Design, code, and unit‑test COBOL programs running under CICS TS

• Maintain VSAM files, DB2 schemas, and COMMAREAs/CHANNELs

• Create/modify JCL for nightly fare refresh, reconciliation, and settlement jobs

• Tune SQL, compiler, and LE settings to reduce CPU/MSU costs

• Participate in code promotion via Endevor → future Git/DBB pipelines

• Provide L3 support: dump analysis, root‑cause, perm fix

• Produce specs, data‑flow diagrams, and release notes

Core Qualifications and Education

• 5 + yrs COBOL on z/OS (3 + yrs in CICS online)
• Strong VSAM, DB2, JCL, TSO/ISPF; debuggers (Debug Tool, Abend‑Aid)
• Familiar with service enablement (CICS Web Svcs, z/OS Connect)
• Incident‑management mindset and clear English communication
• Nice to Have:
  – Cruise, airline, or hospitality booking experience
  – Exposure to MQ or Java middleware that calls CICS APIs
